It’s Very Easy to Make Your Own Natural Laundry Soap
(and once you go natural, you will never go back!)
2 bars of natural soap
1 1/2 cups of Washing Soda (sodium carbonate)
1 cup baking soda (sodium bi-carbonate)
1 cup Borax (Natural Boric Acid)
Break up the soap into chunks and puree into a powder in a food processor. Then add other ingredients. This makes about 8 cups of powder, and about 12-16 washes when re-using the scoop from your old detergent.
Place directly into washer. All ingredients available in laundry isle.
To Soften Your Clothes: Toss in an old, already squeezed lemon. You can store them in your freezer after they’ve been used for cooking, then re-use them to soften your clothes when you want one. It works because the soap is alkaline and the lemon is acidic, so the clothes are softened and neutralized.
They will have a very faint lemon smell.

I’ve been making my own laundry soap for at least 7 years now. I began to research the toxicity of fabric softener and began to find alarming information. Now, it is second nature and VERY easy to do. Just keep the ingredients at hand, buy your soap and other ingredients in bulk, and make it whenever you need it. It takes literally 5 minutes.
You just saved a plastic container in addition to toxic chemicals down the drain, on your skin, and into our water supply.
